York Castle Cliffords Tower From The Eye Of York p01

Photograph: Steep steps leading up the daffodil-covered motte of Clifford's Tower (York).

Image Description

The image shows the stabilised ruins of Clifford's Tower (the keep of York Castle) on top of its grass and daffodil-covered motte. The tower is set against a clear blue sky.

A set of steep steps running-up the centre of the motte link the pavement with the entrance doorway at the base of the tower.

People can be seen:

  • close to the bottom of the image on the pavement at the foot of the motte,
  • ascending and descending the steps and
  • on the rampart walkway at the top of the tower.
