York Low Petergate Looking Towards the Minster p01

Image Description

The image shows the view along Low Petergate from King's Square.

The street is lined with historic and modern buildings in a wide variety of styles, including several jettied timber-framed buildings.

Under York's 'footstreets' scheme, the road is closed to traffic during the middle period of each day. As a result, the roadway and pavements are busy with people enjoying the sunshine.

One of York Minster's west end towers can be seen in the distance, soaring high above the roofline of the buildings on Low Petergate. The English flag is flying from a flagpole on top of one of the towers.
