No. This website is being developed and operated as a hobby.

No, this website is a solo effort created solely to provide an outlet for my own photographs and text.

Under normal circumstances, no. I am not a professional photographer and it is not cost effective for me to sell digital copies or prints of my photographs to the general public. However, if you would like to use any of my photographs for commercial purposes, please contact me.

All equipment must be affordable, compact, lightweight and quick to use. I need to be able to obtain a large number of images at a wide-range of focal lengths in a short space of time. These images need to be capable of reproduction at A4 (as a minimum) at an acceptable and usable level of quality. I like to retain full manual control over the camera and to shoot in RAW as this gives me maximum flexibility during both shooting and post-shoot processing. I therefore use a ‘top of the range’ digital compact camera as my main camera (initially a Canon S70, followed by a Canon G11 and currently a Canon G15). These give excellent results and they can be easily and comfortably carried in the hand or stowed in a pocket. Most importantly, they can be deployed in just a few seconds - a vital consideration when taking photographs in busy urban surroundings and during long rural walks. At the beginning of 2012, I purchased a Panasonic Lumix FZ150 (24x super-zoom ‘bridge camera’) to give me better ‘reach’, more flexibility in framing and the ability to use filters. On the rare occasions when a tripod can be used without causing an obstruction or unacceptable delays, I use a Manfrotto 190CXPRO4 carbon-fibre tripod. I have a selection of Cokin filters, the most frequently used being a polarizing filter and a set of graduated neutral density filters.
