A headstone in the graveyard of St George's Church marks the location of the reputed last resting place of the infamous highwayman known as Dick Turpin.

JOHN PALMER OTHERWISE
RICHARD TURPIN
THE NOTORIOUS HIGHWAY MAN AND HORSE STEALER
EXECUTED AT TYBURN APRIL 7TH 1739
AND BURIED IN ST GEORGE'S CHURCHYARD
