The Jorvik Viking Centre is a purpose-built visitor attraction that tells the story of the Coppergate area of York during the tenth century.

In addition to viewing traditional displays and exhibits, visitors can ride in specially designed 'time capsules' through a series of recreated tenth-century streets, taking-in the sights, sounds and smells of Viking York (which was known as Jorvik).
