• Slide shows display relevant photographic images in an overlay, i.e. the images are displayed over the existing page within the existing window (they do NOT open in a new page or a new window).
  • The slide show feature is activated by clicking / tapping on a thumbnail of a photographic image.
  • When the slide show begins, it will display the image that was clicked / tapped.
  • A title or short description is briefly displayed in a text overlay at the bottom of each image. This automatically disappears after a few seconds (so that the full image can be viewed without obstruction). To make it visible again, use the pointing device to hover the cursor over the image.
  • If the page contains more than one photographic image, a pair of control arrows and an image count (X of Y) will be displayed immediately below the image.
  • If desired, the slide show can be controlled by using the following manual controls:
    • To step FORWARD one image:
      • click / tap on the right-facing arrow (this works for all device-types), or
      • click / tap on the image (this works for all device-types), or
      • click / tap on the keyboard's right-arrow key (this only works for devices with permanently attached keyboards), or
      • swipe-right-to-left (this only works for touch-screen devices with gesture control).
    • To step BACK one image:
      • click / tap on the left-facing arrow (this works for all device-types), or
      • click / tap on the keyboard's left-arrow key (this only works for devices with permanently attached keyboards), or
      • swipe-left-to-right (this only works for touch-screen devices with gesture control).
    • The slide show is configured for manual operation initially (as per the instructions above). However, it is possible to automate the slide show by clicking or tapping on the small PLAY button (located in the bottom right-hand corner).
    • To END the slide show and close the overlay, either:
      • click or tap on the small cross (located in the bottom right-hand corner), or
      • for devices with permanently attached keyboards, press the keyboard's 'Esc' key.
  • Slide shows operate on a continuous loop so, after the last image in the sequence has been displayed, the first image in the sequence will be displayed again.
  • Each image in the slide show will be sized to suit the device. Do NOT attempt to 'zoom' (enlarge) an image during a slide show. Doing so can cause problems with the positioning of the image(s) within the browser window and may prevent the overlay from being closed. (If the latter occurs, use the browser's 'Back' button to end the slide show and return to the previous page.)
