Terry Avenue runs alongside the west bank of the River Ouse near Rowntree Park. It is named after another of York's famous chocolate manufacturers.

Practical information

Terry Avenue forms part of a pleasant 1.5 mile circular walk from Skeldergate Bridge (near Tower Gardens and Clifford's Tower) via the New Walk, the Millennium Bridge and Rowntree Park. However, please note that this entire walking route lies within the functional flood plain of the River Ouse and that it may be inaccessible when the river is in flood and for the duration of post-flood clean-up works. If you are planning a real-world visit, you may wish to bear in mind this Riverside Walk Safety Advice.
