These conveniences serve the north western side of the city centre. They tend to be busy as they lie between York Minster and Museum Gardens / Exhibition Square.

They are also handy when walking the northern section of the City Walls. and exploring the defences in the St Mary's and St Leonard's area.

The entrance to the St Leonard's Place Public Toilets is close to the Wall Walk access steps at Bootham Bar. It's easy to miss if you don't know where to look.
